A Little Bit of Hope Sent in a Card

This is a card that I made as a request over the summer.  They are always so tough to make, but hopefully it gives the recipient the courage to fight.

Soft, subtle and calming is what I was going for.  The little bit of Liquid Pearls was the perfect touch to dress up the embossed front.

Inside, the list of important things cancer can NOT take from you is highlighted with the same pink used on the outside.

Skipping Stones Designs - Cheers Designer Showcase

Good Morning, everyone!!!

Are you ready for the new Skipping Stones Designs stamp set release this month???

Every month on the Monday prior to the stamp release, the DT gets to host a Design Showcase!  You can use my list of Design Team members on the right sidebar to get some other sneak peeks of the new set.

For September, we are showcasing a new set called.....
Cheers!

Heather (the owner) has created another crazy, wacky set with those sentiments you can't find anywhere else.  I love her humor and so will the people that receive cards made from this set.

Designer Showcase!
I love this little martini glass!  It's fun and whimsical and so easy to dress up by simply coloring in that olive.  You can't tell in the picture, but "Happy Birthday" was heat embossed and it really stands out on the front.

Now, if you can't read the small sentiment, it's worth your time to click to enlarge this picture.  I laughed so hard when I read this one.  It's just lots of fun!

If you like what you are seeing, the full reveal with lots of DT inspiration will be on the Skipping Stones Design blog tomorrow!  You even have a chance to win the set, rather than having to buy it!

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Skipping Stones Design - Cheers stamp set

Classic Kraft, Dark Chocolate and Aqua Mist cardstock

Happy Birthday...........

Good Saturday, everyone!!!

I finally got into my craft room to make some cards this week.  I have missed making them so much......But, with getting back into the groove with school and all of the other items I'm making for my Etsy store, I have hardly had any time.

This month is full of birthdays for me.  I mean FULL!!!

So, this is one of the cards I couldn't wait using the MFT Masculine T stamp set and die.

Loved these vibrant colors and how they matched the patterned paper.

You might have to click to enlarge this to see the sentiment, but it was perfect for my brother, Jimmy, this year.

I used the Freshly Made challenge for this week which was choosing any one of their sketches for their first anniversary!  Congrats, Freshly Made!!!!  I decided to use sketch #39 for my brother's card.

MFT - Masculine Graphic T stamp set and dies
Movers & Shakers Sentiments stamp set (inside)
By the Numbers impression plate
The Paper Studio patterned paper - Four Seasons

SSD - Tips & Tricks Thursday

Hi, everyone!

I love my patterned paper, and I know many of you do, too.  Have you ever thought to use background stamps ON the patterned paper to create a whole new look?  You'll be amazed at some of the combinations you'll find.

This first one is one of my favorites.  I actually used this technique on my card for the SSD #145 Sketch challenge this week.
This is one of the sheets from PTI's Enchanted Evening patterned paper pack.  Just some normal polka-dots.

When you add the Grunge 2 paint splatter background stamp using some Fresh snow ink, it makes it look like a snow storm!  Great background for a Christmas or winter card!

What about a more woodsy, masculine look???
This patterned paper from Prima called Doodle Deux has some light squiggly marks going through the yellow.....It's a more feminine pattern.

BUT........Add the woodgrain background stamp from SSD's Grunge stamp set using a Dark Chocolate ink and you've got the perfect background for a masculine birthday card!

 How about some Christmas???
This is a beige and white polka-dot pattern from Authentique's Celebrate collection.

Dress it up with SSD's Timeless Textures background stamp and some Pure Poppy ink and you've got the perfect combination for a Christmas card.

I'd love to see your combinations of patterned paper and background stamps.  If you come up with one you love, put your link in the comments so that I can come visit your blog!

A Little Bit of Ferndale BLING with the Cameo!

Hi, everyone!

I'm still working like crazy with my cameo and now I've been trying my hand at rhinestones!!!

Our school is the Ferndale Yellow Jackets (gotta love the black and gold).  And......I've been trying to come up with some designs to wear on our "Dress Down Fridays."  I just purchased two awesome patterns with yellow jackets and can't wait to bling up a T-shirt with our mascot!

Take a look!
This one is pretty impressive.  With that large size and all those rhinestones, this design will definitely be noticed.

This second one is a bit smaller (5.5" square) and not as filled in.  Will also look great and flashy!

Finally, here's shirt that I just made over the weekend to wear for my Bullying Meeting at school.  Again, I chose the black and gold for our school colors!
Learning how to cut the material to house the rhinestones, then pick it up to place on the T-shirt is pretty neat!

Thanks for stopping by to take a look today!

Happy Labor Day!!!

I hope many of you do have the day off and are actually going to enjoy it!

This card just looks and feels like fall to me!
I love the color-blocking in the background for this card!  It's so perfect to feature these gorgeous flowers.

When I went looking for ideas for my card tonight, as soon as I saw the sketch from The Sweet Stop, I knew I would turn it 90 degrees and make it work with this set.  I absolutely love it and can tell that it will be a "go-to" sketch for many cards..........I'm even thinking ahead for Christmas and using up a ton of older Christmas patterned paper!  ;-)

Memento ink - Tuxedo Black
