Breast Cancer Awareness cards

Good morning, everyone!

I had a request a few weeks ago to make 30 Breast Cancer Awareness cards.  I made up a few to show the requester and this is the one she chose.

I really love the dark mauve in the frame and how it contrasts with the pink ribbon.  I also love how the polka-dots are in both.

Perfect saying for hope.  Absolutely love how this came out.

Materials Used (all PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Faith and Hope  stamp set & dies
Fabulous Frames stamp set and dies
Autumn Rose, Sweet Blush and Stamper's Select White cardstock

Sending Sympathy

Good Saturday, everyone!!!

I have finally gotten into my craft room to make some cards today.  Unfortunately, the first card I had to make was for a friend and coworker who just lost her father.

I just received PTI's Sending You stamp set and I've had this set on my "wish list" forever.  It was perfect for this card and I loved mixing the inks to create the flower.

This sentiment was from PTI's Willow stamp set.

I used the I (heart) Sketches for July for this card.

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Sending You stamp set and dies
Willow stamp set (inside sentiment)
Cosmo Cricket patterned paper - Tea for Two
Vintage Cream cardstock
Ocean Tides, Pure Poppy, Sweet Blush and True Black dye ink

SSD #138 Inspiration Challenge

Good Morning, everyone!!!
This is my 2nd post for today........and also a 2nd challenge for today.  If you are looking for the Paper and Such challenge, click HERE!

Welcome to SSD's Challenge 138!

So, how are you liking the inspiration photos instead of sketches this month?  For me it is a refreshing change.  I'm embracing it because I think it allows my creativity to flow just a little more.  I love deciding if I'm going to use a pattern from the photo or colors.  I'm loving this little change-up.

Of course, we are still going to get inspiration from some guest designers, too!  Laurel Seabrook and  Deb Felts are joining us again and I can't wait to see what they create using the inspiration photos.

Darling Damask & Cancer Schmancer in action!

I had no problem finding the mango, sunshine and slate colors, but the melon was throwing me a little.  Then I thought about using a sentiment instead of an image and TA-DA!!!

This sentiment is just perfect for encouragement and support.  Adding a strip of the same patterned paper to the inside pulls the whole card together.

Now it's YOUR turn!  Join in the inspiration challenge this week by creating a card using the featured photo below.  Link up to the Skipping Stones site for your chance to win FREE stamps!  You don't have to use Skipping Stones Stamps, but we love it when you do!

Here is your inspiration photo for this week!

Materials Used (all PTI, unless otherwise mentioned):
Skipping Stones Design - Darling Damask  & Cancer Schmancer stamp set
DCWV patterned paper - Lemon Flowers
Fillable Frames #4 die
Medium Scallop Border die
Melon Berry, Smokey Shadow and Stamper's Select White cardstock
VersaFine ink - Onyx Black

Paper and Such Post

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

I've got another cute card from Paper and Such.

I have a card for you featuring such a fun character.  Meet Bucky!  He's a cutie just like Melvin (Shhhhhhh.......Don't tell my DH that I just typed that)....lol

These characters are so fun to color.  And, when you have good paper it makes all the difference.  I usually use Neenah Solar White but I had a 50% off coupon for JoAnn's when I was doing some online shopping.  So, I decided to use it on the Copic Express Blending cardstock.  OMGosh!  I'm in total love.  This paper is just awesome for blending!

The grass was done by cutting a piece of Eclipse tape with the In the Meadow die and then masking off the area above and below it.  Then I used the Copic Airbrush system to color in some grass.

Don't forget to look at your other stamps to see what sentiments would work on the inside!

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Paper and Such stamp set - Bucky
Paper and Such stamp set - Patriot and Friends (ladybug)
Paper and Such stamp set - Simple Sentiments (inside)
In the Meadow die
Blueberry Sky and Stamper's Select White cardstock
Memento ink - Tuxedo Black
Copic markers - E44/47/49/97/99, YR24, Y15, R27, YG13/17 and G19 (airbrushed grass)

Have a wonderful day and I hope you get some time to get crafty!

Outlawz - Sweet Treat Challenge

Good morning, everyone!

It's Sunday, so it must be time for a CAS Outlawz challenge!

Here is your challenge this week.....
According to Holiday Insights.....In 1984, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed July as National Ice Cream Month.  He also established National Ice Cream Day as the third Sunday of the month. Your challenge this week is to create a Clean And Simple project that features your favorite sweet treat!

I just loved combining the fun polka dots with the Popsicle.  I paper pieced the Popsicle and then used a shade of Copic a bit darker than the patterned paper to darken the bottom.

Please join us at the Outlawz for this fun challenge.
You can also find other challenges for EVERY day of the week.  I'd be glad to help anyone who joins the forum and needs some help.

When you submit each of your entries with the Inlinkz tab, at the end of every month there are huge prizes to be won!!!

Stick Figure Tumblers!

Good morning, everyone!

I've got more tumblers for you!  I'm having such fun making all of these!

I got a request from a friend to make her a tumbler featuring her 2 beautiful girls using stick figures!  I was so excited because I have a HUGE set of stick figures for my tumblers and shirts, but haven't had a chance to use them.

She wanted each of her girls on opposite sides with Gabby playing volleyball and Gia doing gymnastics.

These turned out so darned cute!  With each of the girls over 3.5" tall, you can really see all the fun details like the braids or glasses.  Much smaller than that, and the cutter won't get those details.  I also think the choice of pink for the letters is perfect!

Remember that I said I had bought a huge collection of figures but haven't gotten to use them yet......well, here's what I mean!

These are all of the options someone has to build their characters.

First, you have the bodies!!!
I love all of the activities in this set.......from gymnastics to football, dancing to fishing!
Instruments galore along with a wedding party.  Wouldn't a tumbler for each bridesmaid (with a matching face/head below) be cute for the Bachelorette Party?
What about some hunting?  Or swimming?  Fishing?  or Shopping?

Next, you have the faces/heads!!!
Here are some faces/heads you can choose!
Here are even more!

Finally, you have the extras!!!
There are actually a few more bodies up in the top left corner.  Bikes, roller blades and skateboards are all popular images for your teenager!

There are a bunch of extras here that can be used for pets, to add purses or hats....even crowns to your stick figure!
And, aren't these selections fun??  I just had a request to put just a pair of flip-flops on a hot pink tumbler.  It looks awesome!

So, you can probably tell why I'm so darned excited..........There are virtually hundreds of combinations to put on a tumbler!!!

I didn't even show you the 3 accessory pages!  There are glasses, mustaches, beach themes, flip flops, horses, fish, dogs, trees, etc........It's an amazing collection to work with!

A few T-shirts to share!

Good morning, everyone!

I've got a couple more T-shirts to share!

When I saw this design I knew I had to buy it!  It's me to a "T" and I just love it!

I can't say that I made this shirt easily........actually, after the FIFTH attempt (yes, I said 5th), I actually got to wear it, but now that it is finished and finished right......I get to wear it as much as I want!  Hopefully, with a good cup of coffee in my hand!  ;-)
I'm not sure if you can tell in the photo, but the heat transfer vinyl is black with silver sparkles.  Against the pink, it really pops!

And..........because the Olympics are this summer and because I don't have anything to wear supporting our country, I made this........with a double purpose.  It was also my 4th of July shirt!
The fireworks are double layered, meaning I ironed on the white vinyl and then layered the red over top and ironed it again.

I've been finding more and more artwork that allows me to make and sell these, so if you something you like, hit that "Contact" button above or click on my Etsy shop!

Good morning, everyone!

It's a Paper & Such Release Day!!!

Today I'll be showcasing the release set along with the other Paper and Such DTs in a blog hop!
Wait until you see this month's gorgeous set and how the other DTs used it to make their projects.

Heart Strings will make you SEW happy!
This gorgeous set has so many heartfelt sentiments.

For my card, I air-brushed the Aida cloth with an ivory Copic marker, then I colored the wooden hoop and hardware with more Copics.  I also sponged some distress ink around the whole die cut image.  Pairing it with the pinks and greens just really makes that sentiment pop!

I have "OFFICIALLY" opened my Etsy Shop!!!

Hey, everyone!

I'm so excited!  I've been wanting to do this for so long, but I kept putting it off.  Why?  I wasn't sure that my cards were good enough.  But over the past few months, more and more people have been coming to me to sell them cards........so, I took the plunge.

I do have to say that without the "push" from 2 very good friends, I'm not sure I would have (thanks, Kathy and Tiff).  With their support and a love of crafting, I can't wait to see what happens with this new adventure.

This is my store banner.  I wanted it to sell more than just "Cards" so Mike suggested the "Specialties" part of the name.  He's so smart!  Little did I know that the "specialties" would be using vinyl and making all kinds of tumblers.
Along with cards, you'll also be spotting some crafty items made with vinyl (my new crafty love).  I've been making t-shirts, frames, tumblers and so much more using vinyl.  The tumblers have been a big hit and if you are a reader of my blog you have seen some of them.

Here are a few that I got asked to make by request.

A friend contacted me to make her this as her son was one of my past students and serves our country.  I was honored to find the air force symbol and make this for her.

I absolutely LOVED this design when I saw it.  It has all of the symbols of autism all wrapped up in one logo.  I love the rainbow colors for the words, too!

Please take a peak at my new shop and bookmark it so you can see all of my latest "cards and specialties."

Here is my Etsy shop addy!

Please also "like" my FB page!

Once I get everything set up and posted, I'll be announcing a coupon with a sale for my store.  If you follow me on FB, I'll be sure to announce it there!

Thanks once again to EVERYONE who has given me the courage to sell my crafty items.
