Hello Flowers

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Just a quick post as I have so much to do today.  Sorry that I have been absent from my blog for a few days but I'm helping to teach a 2-week professional development course at a local college and the days are LONG!!!  It wouldn't be so bad except for the 45 minute commute both ways.  I keep thinking......I could make 2 cards in the time it takes me to go to and from campus.....LOL

Anyway.......I made this card yesterday morning and thought I'd post it real quick!

The "hello" sentiment is heat embossed and really pops off that chocolate brown when you see it in person.

This card came out of inspiration from both of these challenges.  The SplitCoast Stampers #343 Sketch Challenge and the ColourQ #95 Color Challenge.  Loved them both, so why not combine them, right?

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Communique Curves Sentiments stamp set
Beautiful Blooms #2 dies
DCWV patterned paper - Cotton Bloom Stack & Amber Autumn Stack
Stamper's Select White cardstock
Fresh Snow ink
Filigree embossing powder - White
Vintage Buttons - Holiday Mix
Want2Scrap bling
We R Memory Keepers - 1/8" corner punch

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

PTI's Stamp-a-Faire Challenge #10!!!!

Hi, again!!!

On Saturday, PTI was sponsoring a Stamp-a-faire in Cincinnati, Ohio and I'm so disappointed that I was not able to attend.......But, they offered challenges every hour on the hour and I did my best to partake in each one.  The last post did not go live at the same time as the others,  so Nichole posted it on Monday and we get until today to add our cards for the last of the challenges.

This is for the Stamp-a-faire Challenge #10 which is to add a stamped focal point over a stamped background, all in the same layer!  There is really a lot of opportunity here for some fun mixing and matching!

I'm so excited about my card because I got to use my new Background Basics: Vines......To get it to work, since it is a rather bold background stamp.......I added my ink then stamped it on scrap paper BEFORE I stamped my background panel.  It worked like a charm!

See what you think!
I love the BB:Vines with lime green and purple!  I didn't feel like masking off the flowers (long day) so I just used a Copic marker and hand drew the stems from looking at the one that comes in the Daydreamer set.

I'm also entering this into the Clean & Simple #150 Sketch Challenge which is a very fun sketch!  You could use hearts, flowers, stars........I was thinking Fancy Flourishes and Star Prints in red, white and blue, but then went in the flower direction instead.  I'm sure either would have looked wonderful.

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Daydreamer stamp set
Background Basics: Vines stamp set
Botanical Silhouettes stamp set (sentiment)
Lime Twist patterned paper - Happy Go Lucky
Core'dinations cardstock - Stormy Gray
Royal Velvet, Plum Pudding and Stamper's Select White cardstock
Tim Holtz distress ink - Shabby Shutters
VersaMagic ink - Spring Pansy & Purple Hydrangea
VersaFine ink - Onyx Black
Copic marker - YG97

Thanks for taking a peek, today!

Simple Rub-Ons for cards??? Yep! Never used them before!

Happy Monday!

I have a card for you today that was quite messy to make but a lot of fun!

I'm very bad at coming up with a CAS card all by myself and need sketches to get ideas......but, this one I did myself.  Please click to enlarge it so you can see all the glittery goodness.

I bought this kit about a year ago when I first started stamping and didn't know what I should buy.  As you can see, I got it for $1.29.....LOL  Hadn't used it until THIS challenge......LOL

Here are the 4 kits that I bought that day........Maybe I have to get crackin' on some simple, glittery cards!

So, why was it messy???  The way they have the glitter packaged.  Try getting all the extra glitter back into that little tube.  Oh, I do the paper folding trick so that the glitter has a channel to guide it to the holder but those tubes don't stand on their own so try holding the tube w/ one hand and pouring the glitter with the other........NOT fun....lol  Right now, all the glitter is in Tupperware-like containers.....LOL

I'm using this card for the CAS-ual Friday's #12 Challenge which is to make a CAS card using a rub-on.  This qualifies, I hope......even though it's a glittery rub-on.

Materials Used:
PTI - Stamper's Select White cardstock
K&Company Rub-On Glitter Kits

Wow.......That was a quick materials list!  LOL

Thanks for stopping by today!

Another Christmas Card for Mojo Monday's 200th Sketch

Hi, everyone!

This is my 2nd post for the day so you'll have to click on the "HOME" button and then scroll under this post to see my adorable Cupcake Martini card!  ;-)

I forgot all about Mojo Monday having their 200th sketch this week, so I scrambled to make a card to be entered into their challenge.  I just love their sketches and play pretty often......BTW, if you haven't checked them out, they have a new look and I just love it!  The link will be below when I give you the deets to the challenge.

Here's my newest Christmas card.  I think this makes #74!!!
Almost done with my Christmas cards.  Maybe I can get them done in August and be ready for everyone else that starts ordering.

This card looks like I'm featuring patterned paper but the holly leaf with the "Christmas Holly" senttiment is an actual stamp......It just really paired well with this patterned paper.  Please click to enlarge so you can see that beautiful heat embossing for the holly background.   It's so gorgeous.

As mentioned earlier I made this for the Mojo Monday 200th Sketch Challenge.  I'm not very good at "shabby chic" but this patterned paper helped me out a lot.  I love the look and might have to create a few more of these......lol

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Inkadinkado stamp set - Artistic Holiday
Impression Obsesssion: Cover-A-Card - Holly
Authentique patterned paper - Wonder Collection
Nesties - Standard Circles Large & Small
Small Scalloped Border die
Ripe Avocado & Rustic Cream cardstock
Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit - Red cardstock & ribbon
VersaMark ink
Filigree embossing powder - Clear
VersaMagic ink - Spanish Moss

Thanks for visiting a 2nd time today!

Martini Birthday, anyone???

It's Sunday and I'm praying that the temperatures are little lower today!!!  After 2 days in the upper 90's and the heat index over 100 degrees.........and..........NOT having air conditioning............. this crafty girl is ready for some cooler temperatures!

Since my craftroom is in the basement, it was much cooler down there, so that's where I've been hiding out the last few days.....lol
Here's what I created!
A martini to cool me off!

I'll have a cupcake martini, please!!!

Impression Obsession is having a wonderful challenge this week (even though I think they are all wonderful) and the challenge is to use ONLY IO stamps.  I have many of their Cover-A-Card stamps (9 if I'm being honest) but I only have 2 of their stamp sets.  I think this image is going to be used quite heavily!!!

If you click to enlarge the photo, you can see that I used 2 CAC stamps.  I first used the Screen CAC in a light pink and then used Stitches CAC overtop in a light green.  Then I also used their Birthday Cakes stamp set for the martini and sentiment.

Here's a 2nd shot so that you can see the dimensionals used under the large square and the martini glass.

I'm also using an alternate color palette from SCC Week 4.  The 4th combo down is the one I chose to use with light and dark pink, brown, lime green and white.

And.......I used the Inkspirations #79 Sketch Challenge to pull it all together.

Materials Used:
Impression Obsession - Birthday Cakes stamp set
Impression Obsession Cover-A-Card - Screen stamp
Impression Obsession Cover-A-Card - Stitches stamp
Basic Grey patterned paper - Sweet Threads
PTI - Pink Blush cardstock
Lush decorative brads - Green
Martha Stewart - Zinnia stickers
Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients club ribbon
Martha Stewart glitter glue - Yellow Barite
Ranger Liquid Pearls - Petal Pink

VersaFine ink - Onyx Black
Sakura Gelly Roll pens - #553 & #554
Tim Holtz distress inks - Shabby Shutters & Spun Sugar
Copic markers - RV10/34, E25, R29, and YG23

Thanks so much for visiting me today!  I hope it's cooler in your neck of the woods!

PTI's Stamp-a-faire #6 Challenge

Hi, again!!!

Today, PTI is sponsoring a Stamp-a-faire in Cincinnati, Ohio and I'm so disappointed that I was not able to attend.......But, they are offering challenges every hour on the hour and I am doing my best to partake in each one.

So, you know what that means, right????
Lots of posts today!!!

This is for the Stamp-a-faire Challenge #6 which is to use the little notch technique to hold twine or ribbon in place across the cover of your project.  You can use a circle punch of any diameter to create a round notch or a square punch for a square notch.  There's lots of options for this one!

I had to get creative with this one because I don't have a lot of punches.  So, I used the Boy Basics: Simple Circles die to punch the half circles......lol

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Tree Trimming Trio stamp set
Christmas Tree die
Boy Basics: Simple Circle die
Authentique patterned paper - Wonder Collection
Ripe Avocado & Rustic Cream cardstock
Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients - Dark Red cardstock
VersaMagic ink - Spanish Olive & Crimson Red

So, you know what that means, right????
Lots of posts today!!!

This is for the Stamp-a-faire Challenge #8 which is to create a card with an front cover that is cut back by an inch or so.  The extra lip invites you to add a sentiment, a strip of patterned paper, a bit of glitter, just so many opportunities!

I think the Leafy Vine die and the Vineyard impression plate work very well together.  Don't ya think?  ;-)

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Wildflower Garden stamp set
Leafy Vine die

PTI's Stamp-a-faire #1 Challenge

Hi, again!!!

Today, PTI is sponsoring a Stamp-a-faire in Cincinnati, Ohio and I'm so disappointed that I was not able to attend.......But, they are offering challenges every hour on the hour and I am doing my best to partake in each one.

So, you know what that means, right????
Lots of posts today!!!

This is for the Stamp-a-faire Challenge #1 which is to feature patterned strips that are created with some of your favorite decorative elements.!

Another card with no sketch as a starting point!!!

Chevron Stripes meet GRAPES!
Yep, I used the Fruit Fusion: Grapes stamp set to make chevron stripes!
I just love it!

I'm also entering this in the Summer Card Camp - Week 4 challenge!  I used the last combination of the six, but when I printed it out, it totally looks like a light blue, peach, dark orange, tan and green........so, that's what my card uses!

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Fruit Fusion: Grapes stamp set
Half & Half stamp set& dies
Tim Holtz distress inks - Shabby Shutters, Rusty Hinge, and Dried Marigold
Spring Rain & Fine Linen cardstock
Wrinkled Ribbon made by me

PTI's Stamp-a-faire Challenge #9

Hi, again!!!

Today, PTI is sponsoring a Stamp-a-faire in Cincinnati, Ohio and I'm so disappointed that I was not able to attend.......But, they are offering challenges every hour on the hour and I am doing my best to partake in each one.

So, you know what that means, right????
Lots of posts today!!!

This is for the Stamp-a-faire Challenge #9 which is to  look at your stamps in a new way, turn them, rotate them at new angles and see if YOU can come up with anything unique!

I am so stinking excited over my discovery that I can't even type this without smiling.  SERIOUSLY!!!

I used Fruit Fusion: Grapes stamp set & die to make a poinsettia that is held together with a brad and then I used the handle from Favor It - Box 4 die as a basket!!!

I die cut 6 grape bunches, but after stamping them with VersaMark, I cut off the stems.  Then, using a thumbtack, I put a tiny whole in the grape at the point.....inserted the brad and fanned them out like a flower.

The holly leaves and sentiment are embossed w/ clear embossing powder and look so, so pretty.......but, I wish my sentiment would have come out a tad bit darker.  Maybe I should have used white embossing powder for that.  Oh well, I love the overall result.

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Fruit Fusion: Grapes stamp set & dies
Leaf Prints stamp set & dies
Year of Flowers: Poinsettia stamp set (sentiment)
Impression Obsession Cover-A-Card - Holly
Favor It Box 4 die

Pure Poppy, Ripe Avocado, Pinefeather and Rustic Cream cardstock

Vintage Cream ink

PTI's Stamp-a-faire #7 Challenge

Hi, again!!!

Today, PTI is sponsoring a Stamp-a-faire in Cincinnati, Ohio and I'm so disappointed that I was not able to attend.......But, they are offering challenges every hour on the hour and I am doing my best to partake in each one.

So, you know what that means, right????
Lots of posts today!!!

This is for the Stamp-a-faire Challenge #7 which is to have a "play date" with your stamps and discover 2 or 3 images from different sets that layer together in a surprising way!

I don't know why I was drawn to Blooming Button Bits, but I ended up pairing that with one of the Flower Fusion sets.  I know that it's not as original as Betsy's, but it did turn out very pretty, if I do say so myself.....LOL

Oh.......Something else that I discovered.......You can take 2 of the Half & Half dies and layer them to make a pretty cool looking panel like I did below!
This card is actually filled w/ mistakes that turned out making it look a bit "artsy."  After stamping one of the branches, I dropped my acrylic block and it lightly stamped the leaves again........so, I did that all over so I wouldn't have to recreate the panel......Then, I could not for the life of me get the 2nd flower in dark pink to line up directly overtop the light pink.....so, I sort of put them off center and I really like the look it achieved.  Not bad for a card filled with mistakes....lol

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Half & Half stamp set & dies
Blooming Button Bits stamp set
Flower Fusion #3 stamp set
Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado, Sweet Blush and Vintage Cream cardstock
VersaMagic ink- Pixie Dust & Pink Petunia
VersaFine ink - Spanish Moss & Onyx Black
Recollections dimensional sticker and pearls

So, you know what that means, right????
Lots of posts today!!!

This is for the Stamp-a-faire Challenge #5 which is to take a solid shape, and create your own custom "faux" border!

Another card with no sketch as a starting point!!!

See what you think!
I used one of the little mats in Tiny Tags and only stamped half of it around the card.  I think it turned out perfectly.  The real fun was making the swirly rainbow colored.  Too fun!

I'm also entering this in the Color Throwdown #151 Color Challenge!  I love the colors this time which are light pink, dark pink and yellow!

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Tiny Tags stamp set

This is for the Stamp-a-faire Challenge #3 which is to punch a window from your card cover and tie ribbon or twine from the window to the side of your card.

Another card with no sketch as a starting point!!!

PTI's Stamp-a-faire Challenge #2

Hi, again!!!

Today, PTI is sponsoring a Stamp-a-faire in Cincinnati, Ohio and I'm so disappointed that I was not able to attend.......But, they are offering challenges every hour on the hour and I am doing my best to partake in each one.

So, you know what that means, right????
Lots of posts today!!!

This is for the Stamp-a-faire Challenge #2 which is to pair up a hot pink, like Raspberry Fizz, with a charcoal grey (like Smokey Shadow).

This is a totally simple card, but I'm so, so proud of it because I didn't use a sketch to make it.  That rarely happens........so, I'm thrilled.  I broke out two of the new sets I got from the last release and inked them up.

See what you think!

I really wanted to do more........but, decided that I sort of liked all the white space.

I'm also entering this into The Play Date Cafe's #91Color Challenge which is a Color Splash challenge.  What that means is that you only use a splash of color with black and gray.  This week they even let you choose your splash and mine is hot pink!

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Tranquility Trilogy stamp set
Think Big Favorites #6 stamp set
Stamper's Select White cardstock
Raspberry Fizz ink
VersaFine ink - Smokey Gray and Onyx Black
Oriental Trading - pink rhinestones

Thanks for taking a peek, today!

Two adorable baby cards!

Saturday......Saturday......Saturday.......Saturday!!!

I'm home and all is well except I'm missing my better half terribly.  He stayed out at the river lot for several friends coming over the weekend.  I'm sure he's having a good time, but I miss him.

Here are 2 more cards that I made on Wednesday.  Because of the sketch that I used and the triangular panels, I decided to make 2 so I wouldn't have the scraps left over.  The only thing different is the sentiment on the front.

I just love this DCWV Green Tea Stack patterned paper.  It's perfect for a little boy card.  Don't you think?

Here's the 2nd one with a different sentiment.

The colors were inspired by this week's SCC Color Challenge.

And........I'm using it for the Card Positioning Systems #227 Sketch Challenge

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Verve - Emery Plain Jane stamp
Baby Button Bits stamp set (sentiments)
DCWV - Green Tea Stack
Stamper's Select White cardstock
Memento ink - Pear Tart
Versa Fine ink - Onyx Black

Summer Card Camp teaches me how to letterpress!

It's Friday!!!

I'm home and still unpacking.  I didn't realize I took so much!  But, it was definitely worth it.  Over the 13 days I was at our river lot, I got 23 cards made!!!  I call that a relaxing vacation!

Here's another card that I actually made on Tuesday while DH was fishing all afternoon.

Now THIS letterpressing came out just gorgeous!!! I used a folder today instead of an impression plate and love the results much better!  The two-step stamping on the flower is so fun to do.

I'm also using this card for the Clean & Simple #149 Sketch Challenge

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
the {stamps} of life - Creations2Fill stamp set
the {stamps} of life -Flowr2Doodle stamp set (sentiment)
DCWV - Green Tea Stack
