Squigglefly Monday - Scraps Challenge, 365 Cards and Totally Hues Challenges

Happy Monday!!!
Another Squigglefly challenge for you this week that is fun, fun, fun!!!

First the card..........

Another card for me to use with my monogram on it!!!

Now the clues!

What does this...........

this.............

and this...............
have to do with this week's challenge?

SCRAPS!!!

Yep!  This week you are challenged to use scraps in your card!   I have so many scraps that this card was totally made from them except for the base!
***Rolls eyes***
I'm hoping that I don't find myself alone in admitting that......lol

In order to make my scraps look beautiful, I found a few other challenges to pair them with.  This will be my 2nd card for the Totally Hues #2 Challenge.  I just love these colors together!!!  I'll aslo be using it for the 365 Cards - Day 364 Sketch Challenge.  I made the card to fit an office-sized envelope, so it's a 4"x9" card.

I hope to see your card in this week's Squigglefly challenge!  All cards made with scraps are eligible, but if you use any Squigglefly images on your card (including freebies) you have a chance to win a prize!!!

And......to help you out with a special "green" holiday that is coming up, Squigglefly has all of their St. Patrick's Day images on sale!!!  CLICK HERE to go check them out!  Scroll to the bottom of that page and you'll see all of the images on sale.

Happy Birthday for Skipping Stones Sketch Challenge and OTWC Color Challenge

Happy Sunday, everyone!!!

Late post for me, but I've been crafty pretty much all day.

Today's card features more of that new Royal Velvet card stock from PTI!!! I am just loving the deep richness of this color.  It's so......so.......majestic looking!  I also used the Royal Velvet satin ribbon, but in this picture it looks much more blue than it does in real life.

So, about 2 weeks ago I won a challenge from Skipping Stones designs and I got their new stamp set Pumpkin Seeds Sentiments for free!!!!  I got the set yesterday and couldn't wait to ink it up!  Since they have an awesome sketch challenge this week........I had to feature THEIR own stamps!!!

I created the background using this new set!!! I just love it!  With the monochromatic colors it turned out beautiful!

More of the background paper I made on the inside just to add a bit of an accent.

As mentioned above, I am using this for the Skipping Stones Design #65 Sketch Challenge for this week.  I also paired it with the Off the Wall Craftiness #47 Challenge since it used purple and lavendar......Yep!......Another chance to use Royal Velvet.....lol

2011 Birthday Tags stamp set (inside sentiment)
Fillable Frames #4 stamp set & die

Hey There Friend for Moxie Fab World & CardPatterns Challenges

It's Friday!
It's Friday!
I'm doin' the happy dance for Friday!!!

I received my PTI Anniversary stamps this week and I did get to ink a few of them up.  Oh, what lovely, lovely stamps they had in February!!!  The card I created was really out of my comfort zone because of colors and size!  I'm used to making the standard 4.25"x5.5" card......but this one is a 5"x7"!  It looks so huge!  But I needed it to for the Hello Friend dies and stamps.  It turned out rather perfect, if I do say so myself.......lol

Very CAS, but so, so pretty!  I actually love these colors together and would have never reached for them, if not for the Moxie Fab World: Tuesday Trigger!

Just a simple flower border to dress up the inside.

As mentioned above, I did get inspiration from Moxie Fab Word's Tuesday Trigger Challenge.  I have looked at these inspiration challenges for over 4 months and they always intimidate the heck out of me.  I mean, have you ever seen the things that everyone produces from these challenges??? They are just amazing and blow me away every week! When I saw this week's challenge, and I had just received my Hello Friend stamp set from PTI's newest release, I knew that I wanted to use the two together.

I also got some inspiration from Card Patterns #103 Sketch challenge.  It worked perfectly with the 3 different flowers in the stamp set and I got to make some buttons, too!

BTW........Aren't you just loving the new Royal Velvet card stock that is the base of this card??? OMG, it's just luscious!!!  Pairs perfectly with Memento Grape Jelly ink.  I mean, PERFECTLY!

Coffee Break for Totally Hues & CPS Challenges

Hello, friends!!!
It's almost Friday!!!

Today, I'm using another new stamp set from the {stamps} of life........Coffee4two.  You have already seen one card this week using Stephanie's stamps (that's the owner's/creator's name) but I had to use another set that I am just smitten with!!!

Here ya go!
I may need this myself!

The coffee cup was made by paper-piecing some dark brown Marjolaine paper and Ocean Tides to make the "non-traditional" colored cup.  I know it would normally have a white lid, but I was afraid it would get lost with the doily behind it.....So, I'm saying this cup is going green.......well, blue.......well, a grayish blue green......lol

The inside turned out perfectly!  If you need a break, why not grab a cup of coffee with a friend.  Right?

I've entered my card into a new challenge (for me) and an all time favorite.

I honestly can't tell you where I read about the Totally Hues challenges, but Thank-you so much to whoever did post about it.  I just love that the colors are PTI because I have them ALL!!!  But, the combination of colors is what makes these challenges amazing!  I'm disappointed that I didn't get to play along with the very first challenge.......but, I am definitely here for the Totally Hues #2 Challenge.

The sketch challenge comes from one of my favorites.  Card Positioning Systems #206 Sketch Challenge is always one of my "go tos."  I was stumped at first as to what I would use as my large circle and then I thought of the doily.  I'm hoping it may remind the recipient of a fancy napkin......lol

So, since you now want a good ole cuppa joe.......Go get one!  With a friend!
Cheers!

Happy Spring for C&S, CR84FN and Crazy 4 Challenges!!!

Happy, Happy Wednesday to you!

I'm hoping that this card will MAKE spring arrive..........since Monday night we got buried in a ton of snow in Pennsylvania!

I was so happy that I had a Copic marker to match the lilac base card.  It matches perfectly!

This little cutie bunny needed some love, so I just had to create a fun card using it.  This was in my February shipment from the {stamps} of life.  I love being in Stephanie's club because I probably would have never bought this set, but now that I have it.......I adore it!  Don't you just love the little bunny patterned paper that I made using the 2 smaller bunnies in this set?  I did the light/dark stamping technique that Stephanie showed in one of her videos.  It really turned out much better than I thought it would.

I used several challenges to create this card.  The first one to inspire me was the Clean & Simple #128 Sketch Challenge.  As soon as I saw that large die cut, I knew that the bunny would fit.  Then, since Crazy 4 Challenges has a challenge to use die cuts on your card........this definitely worked!  Finally, I needed some color inspiration......enter the CR84FN #16 Color Challenge

the {stamps} of life - Bunny4Easter (big bunny and smaller background bunnies)

Blooming Get Well Wishes for Color Throwdown & 365 Cards

Good morning, everyone!
Happy Tuesday to you!

I have to apologize for not posting anything over the weekend.......I was just having some "mojo" issues and couldn't make myself do anything.  Not sure why......but, I made myself get crafty last night so that I would have this to post.

After PTI's January blog hop, I had taken notes on several cards that I had seen in others' blogs to use certain stamp sets that haven't seen ink or that I've only used a few times.  Blooming Button Bits is one such set.  I love all of the Button Bits sets, but I haven't pulled them out lately.....so, after last night, that item is officially crossed of my list!

I also got to use the new Healing Sentiments set that I haven't even put away yet.  Yikes, my February release order should be here this week and I still have January release items sitting on my desk!

I swear that I just love every single paper in this Basic Grey - Marjolaine pad!!  I could just make a ton of cards using these colors!!!

Sneak peek to the inside, but I just wanted you to see the dimension on the front.

I just love, love, love these Healing Touch sentiments!  They are so perfect for anyone feeling under the weather!

This card was inspired by a new challenge that I have come across.  It's called Color Throwdown and supplies new color challenges every Wednesday.  I read about it on Keva's blog (which you should check out because she just rocks her colors and cards), so I decided to play along, too.

I also used the 365 Cards -Day 357 Sketch Challenge.  I really liked the simple, clean style of this and it worked perfectly with that great big flower!

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
 Blooming Button Bits stamp set
Healing Touch Sentiments stamp set (inside)
Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado & Spring Rain card stock
Basic Grey patterned paper- Marjolaine
Blueberry Sky button
VersaMagic ink - Aegean Blue
Misc. Ribbon (It just happened to match perfectly!)

Digital Delights Squigglefly Challenge!!!

Happy, Happy Monday to you!!!

If it's Monday, that means there is another Squigglefly challenge ready to go for you!

This is such a fun challenge!  Vickie has us creating some Digital Delights!!!  What are Digital Delights you ask.............A card with lots of Ds!!!

We are putting emphasis on the letter "D" today and all week!  When making your creation, be sure to use/add something that starts with the letter "D".......like a "digital image" from Squigglefly!!!  So, use things like dots, decorative papers, dew drops, doilies, deco paint.....You get the idea, right?

Here's my creation!!!

This is the little 4"x4" card all folded up!

This is the card opened!  Isn't it just so pretty?

You have to see the glittery diamond affect of the Smooch!  Click to enlarge this picture and you will see it perfectly!

The Copics used to color the image.

So, where are my Ds???  First I used a new Digital image by Revi Devi Paat called Under the Sea.  I made the card 3-Dimensional and in a Diamond shaped by following this VIDEO TUTORIAL.  You can't see it but the mermaid panel is on Dimensionals to give it even more of a pop.  I also glitzed it up using Smooch Pearlized Top Coat so that it appears like the mermaid is all glittery like Diamonds.  Finally, I added a Doily to the side panels so that I could write on them.

The sentiment came from the movie Little Mermaid and was just perfect for a darling little student that moved out of our school district on Friday.  What little girl doesn't like Ariel the mermaid.  Since she was disappointed that she was leaving, I thought this quote from the movie would definitely cheer her up.....and it DID!  I'll miss my little Britty-girl and her laughter, but I know she'll be just fine.

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Squigglefly Digital Stamps - Under the Sea
Recollections - Colored Core card stock
Smooch - Pearlized Top Coat
4" Paper Doily
Copic markers

Sympathy of Trees for Sweet Sunday Sketch & PTI's Make It Monday challenges

Hey, Stampers!!!  It's a crafty Thursday!!!
Thanks for visiting today!

Have I mentioned how excited I am that PTI started their Make It Monday challenges???  I just know that these technique videos are going to make me so much better at my card making.

The focus for this week's PTI Make It Monday #2 video is on adding a vellum sentiment strip to your cards.  I had a whole package of PTI's vellum from August and had not opened it up until I made this card.  I was worried I would smear the ink or that it just wouldn't look right........but, I found out that I was totally wrong.  I just love the card I made using the vellum strip!

Here's my card!

I embossed the trees and they are so striking when you see this card.  I just love how this turned out.  I also can not believe how nice this Basic Grey paper matched PTI's Ocean Tides and Aqua Mist.......I just love it together.

For the inside tree, I did stamp it once on scrap paper so that it wasn't as dark as the front.  Just a little something for the inside.

Here's the video that Nichole Heady did for this week!

I also am using my card for the Sweet Sunday Sketch #104 challenge this week.  When I saw that strip going over the top of the focal image, I knew instantly that it would work with this week's MIM challenge.

To me, the scallops were too "cheery" for my sympathy card, so I decided to give the patterned paper in the back some shape, instead.  Using my Creative Memories tearing tool, I ripped the patterned paper to offset the straight strip on the front.  The only thing I needed was something for that little circle.....so, I die cut the smallest leaf using a Leaf Prints die......then I traced it so that the leaf had a border.

You still have until 7:00a.m on Monday to make a card for the PTI challenge.
Why not try vellum?  There is nothing to be afraid of........as I found out today.  ;-)

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
 Through the Trees stamp set
Ocean Tides, Aqua Mist and Stamper's Select White cardstock
Basic Grey patterned paper - Marjolaine
Stamper's Select Vellum cardstock
Leaf Prints die
Creative Memories - Tearing Tool
VersaFine ink - Onyx Black
Prima e. - Pearls

Teddy Garden card for the CPS #205 Card Sketch Challenge

It's Hump Day!!!
We have made it half way through the week!!!

Another Squigglefly card for you today.  This one has no sentiments.......just a note card to make someone smile.  Teddy Garden is another newly released image from the very talented artist, Marla Shega.  Her drawings are so detailed that you really don't have to worry about shading with your Copic markers.  I just love her images!

Isn't this bear just adorable?  I love all the detail in this image!

I also used this card for the Card Positioning Systems #205 Sketch Challenge.  After I flipped the sketch, it was perfect since I needed a larger focal panel for my image.  I love it when a plan comes together!  ;-)

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Squigglefly Digital Stamps - Teddy Garden
New Leaf and Enchanted Evening card stock
Georgia Pacific card stock
Creative Memories paper flowers and ribbon - Reminisce

Set of 4 Gardening Note Cards for Clean & Simple #127 Sketch Challenge

Happy Tuesday!!!

I have a special treat today..........
A note card assortment that just turned out so pretty!

I have so many friends that garden, so when I saw this Garden Tools Bouquet image at Squigglefly this past Saturday, I knew I had to make a bunch of cards using it.  Marla Shega is the artist behind this beautiful image.  Wait until you see another one of her images for the card coming up tomorrow!

Here is a set of 4 cards!

I used the same Copic colors for the tools but changed up the twine/straw that was around them and the borders.  Then I matched it to the card stock base.

Giving you a peek at the inside.  Click to enlarge!

I really like these muted colors and the torn paper.

If you click to enlarge, you will see that the first card has a deep blue strip and then second one is brown.

Isn't that image just beautiful???  It seriously only took me about a half hour to color all 4 images and then about 40 minutes to assemble all 4 cards.  Of course, it was made a bit easier by using the Clean & Simple #127 Sketch Challenge.  This will be a sketch that I use often.  Absolutely love it!

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Squigglefly Digital Stamps - Garden Tools Bouquet
New Leaf, Spring Moss, Melon Berry & Summer Sunrise card stock
Take Three: Fall stamp set (sentiment)
Creative Memories - Tearing Tool
