Lilac Dress Form Just Because card for PDCC66 and C&S #125 Challenges

 Happy Monday!!!
This is my 2nd post of the day so be sure to check out my Squigglefly Monday Challenge card!!

Today, I made another card using some of the same elements that I did on Saturday.  I decided to combine challenges again.  The first challenge I am using is the Play Date Cafe #66 Color Splash Challenge.  This is a color splash challenge which means you basically use black and white and a splash of the color chosen. This week the color is lilac. I do hope that gray is also allowed, but if not, I still love how this card turned out.  The second challenge I'm using with my card is the C&S #125 Sketch Challenge.  Oh, how I just love, love, love this sketch!!!  In fact, I'm off to make several more cards using this sketch because it's so easy and just looks amazing!

Here's my card!

That splash of lilac is just amazing!  And.....I finally got to use my new twine from The Twinery!!!

I had a strip of the fading plaid left over so it looked perfect on the inside of the card.

SFC #83 - Valentine's Day Sketch

Good Morning!
Welcome to Squigglefly Monday!!!

The challenge this week is to use the sketch above, and also use red, glitter and hearts!!!

I flipped the sketch around and made it vertical and wanted a different edge,
so this is what I came up with!

Buttons and Bling!!! That's what it's all about!

Are you surprised that there are buttons??? Lots and lots of buttons???  LOL
I can't help myself!  Glitter glue and buttons are my latest favorite embellishments.  And, if I do say so myself, they seem to work quite well with all of the images that have varying circles.  Don't ya think?

Happy Birthday for the Mojo Monday #175 Sketch Challenge.

Happy Sunday to you!!!

I've got a birthday card to share, but I'm not quite feeling it with this one.  I think it has wayyyyyyyyy too much going on.....but, at the same time, I sort of like it.  I can't put my finger on what's bothering me.  So, seriously, give me any constructive criticism that you think may help me out.  I'm frustrated!  LOL

This card was made with the Mojo Monday #175 Sketch Challenge in mind.  When I saw this sketch and it had the little pin embellishment on it,  I knew I wanted to try to make one.  I used to make jewelry and have oodles of beads left, so I pulled out those dusty tackle boxes (what I used to store all those little beads) and couldn't wait to use some of them.

I also wanted to use more of the digital paper that I found at Shery K. Designs yesterday (the link for the exact pack that I used for this card is linked in the materials list at the bottom of this post).  I won't bore you with the same details as yesterday, but if you want some beautiful paper, you have to check out her store.

Here it is!

I just love the confetti paper from Shery's store.  It's so fun and has so many of the PTI colors in it.

Here's a close-up of the pin.  Isn't it cute?  You can click the picture to enlarge it, too!

The inside decorated in the same colors as the outside.

So, can you put your finger on it?  Is it just too busy?  Is it the dominant pink polka dots taking too much of the attention?  I just can't figure it out.  Tell me what you think.

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Mat Stack #3 Collection stamp set
Make a Wish stamp set (inside presents)
Birthday Basics stamp set (outside sentiment)
Signature Greetings (inside sentiment)

Make a Wish die
Hawaiian Shores & Stamper's Select White card stock
Shery K. DesignsParty Time Mega Paper Pack
Raspberry Fizz Palette ink

Dressform Just Because card for OTWC and C&S challenges

Happy Saturday, everyone!!

I'm so happy to have gotten some crafty time today.  I have really been having issues with my shoulder and then DH had the flu this week, causing me to sleep on the couch so I didn't get it.  Needless to say, I didn't have the time to do much since I was shoveling snow and just plain tired from not sleeping well.

Butttttttttttttt...........Today, I did get to make some cards and this one turned out so awesome!!!

First off, I found an incredible digital paper store that I bought several packs of paper from this morning.  If you just create your cards for your own gift giving you will love these prices......but, since I sell some of my cards, I did purchase the commercial license.  The prices are still amazing!  Here is the link for Shery K. Designs.  If you do want the papers to use on cards you sell, contact Shery first and she'll adjust the price and then send you a receipt stating that you have the commercial license.  I did link the exact paper I used in the card in the materials list at the end of this post.

Now, onto the card!

I decided to combine challenges in using the OTWC #43 Color Challenge this week which is black, white and a cameo.  Well I didn't have a cameo, but I did have a silhouette.  I'm hoping that this will be allowed, but if not, I still love how this card turned out.  I'm also pairing it with the C&S #125 Sketch Challenge.  Oh, how I just love, love, love this sketch!!!  In fact, I'm off to make several more cards using this sketch because it's so easy and just looks amazing!

You can click to enlarge this image because you just have to see that diamond necklace up close.....lol

Isn't that patterned paper just amazing???  I actually lined up the 1 1/8" X 3" strips of plaid paper on a piece of scrap paper so that the squares would piece together nicely.  Then I cut the rectangle out so that all of the edges would be even.  With the simple sentiments under the paper, it really looks awesome!

I carried the plaid over to the inside.

I hope you enjoy this card as much as I do!

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):

Signature Series: Dress Form die
Shery K Designs - Plaid Mega Paper Pack

I Need Ewe Card!

Just a little card to brighten someone's day!

I had so much fun with the Liquid Applique on this one from Squigglefly.  This image is called Bears and Lambs and is by artist Cheryl Alger.  It was released last Saturday with several others.  But, tomorrow............Even more will be released because Squigglefly releases new images EVERY Saturday.  I can't wait to see what they have for us tomorrow! Pssssttttttt.........I've heard whisperings that there may be another SHY BEAR!!!!

I came up with the sentiment myself, and I know it's corny, but sometimes you just need to tell a friend that you need them around.  Thus, the thinking behind the sentiment.  The cute little bear looks like she needs the sheep to make her smile.  Don't you think?

You can click to enlarge this picture to see all of the fluffy goodness from the Liquid Applique.
I decorated the inside with stamps from PTI's Little Bitty Bird.

Butterfly Kisses for the Sweet Sunday Sketch & Gina K.'s Color Challenges

Today I have a beautiful card using some new stamps, new cardstock and new ribbon.  I just love breaking into new stampin' stuff.  Don't you?

I just loved the Gina K. #9 Color Challenge this week.  Normally, I work with a sketch first and then go to color.....but, this one had me trying to think of something that would work almost immediately.  Once I knew which stamps I was going to use, THEN I went looking for a sketch that it would work with......Enter the Sweet Sunday #101 Sketch Challenge.  Love the idea of double ribbon or a cardstock strip with ribbon on top for that background.  There are so many possibilities!!!

Here's my card!

I just love how this background turned out (click to enlarge to see it even larger).  I used PTI's Linen/Canvas IP with Dark Chocolate ink on the plate BEFORE I ran it through my Big Kick.  Then I brushed up the edges with even more ink so it would pop against the Hawaiian Shores cardstock.
Just another angle so that you can see the oval popped up on dimensionals.
Here's the inside (click to enlarge).  I just loved adding the little swirly to the inside with the sentiment.

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
 the {stamps} of life - Butterfly2build
Hawaiian Shores, Kraft and Dark Chocolate card stock
Linen/Canvas impression plate
Dark Chocolate ink
VersaFine ink - Deep Lagoon
VersaMagic ink - Sea Breeze
Michael's - Sugar n' Spice ribbon
Cuttlebug - Swiss Dot embossing folder

Daffodil Anniversary for C& Simple #124 & Off the Wall Craftiness #42 Challenges

Hi, everyone!
I got some time this weekend to get inky and have made quite a few cards that I have scheduled to update my blog.  I love working ahead when I can.  It makes things so much easier.

I had so much fun making this card........although, it took me the better part of an entire afternoon!

I made it for the Clean & Simple #124 Sketch Challenge and it was anything but simple......lol  Of course, that was my fault because I got into one of my "paper piecing" moods and there was a ton of cutting for this card......but, well worth it.  I also really wanted to use the colors in the Off the Wall Craftiness #42 Color Challenge........but, I wasn't sure what YOF stamps I had that could be orange.  I decided on the daffodils because of the sketch (I needed something tall), but honestly, I'm not a "flower" type girl, so I had no idea if they could be orange.  I only thought they were yellow.  I did a Google Image search, and guess what I found???  Orange and white daffodils!!  I was so excited.  I'm even including proof!  LOL

Here's my take on the colors and sketch!!!

I found the super light aqua paper (for the stem and leaves) in a Basic Gray pad that I had, then I cut out the outside petals on some white cs that I heat embossed.  Finally, I cut out the inside using the same paper as the background.  I did the same for the little daffodil in the Mat Stack.

This is the inside.  I used the negative from my eyelet border die across the bottom and used the stamp that I used to for the outside embossed petals in the large daffodil on the front.  I love decorating the inside of my cards.

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Year of Flowers: Daffodils stamp set
Mat Stack #2 stamp set
Mat Stack #3 Collection stamp set (sentiment)
Hawaiian Shores card stock
DCWV - Cotton Bloom Stack design paper
Basic Grey - Marjolaine design paper
Fresh Snow satin ribbon
Taylored Expressions - Scalloped Eyelet Border die
Tim Holtz distress ink - Antique Linen
Studio G. ink - Aqua
VersaFine - Onyx Black
Filigree embossing powder - Clear

Papertrey January Blog Hop Challenge!!!

It's 2011 and it's the first PTI Blog Hop of the year!

For January's Blog Hop, this is the challenge......

New Year's Resolution
With the new year comes a clean slate along with many resolutions.  This month's blog hop challenge involves you challenging yourself to use a Papertrey stamp set that has yet to see ink or even one that might be collecting a little dust!  Go through your stash and see what little used treasure it might hold.

I had gotten an idea about a week ago (yeah, I know, I'm surprised at that, too.....lol) when I saw Stephanie Washburn's Blogger post about making Etsy Shop Thank-you cards.  I knew I needed to start creating something to put in my Etsy packages, but didn't want to make a full card as a TY.  Her idea was perfect!  I could make 4 cards out of one sheet of card stock and it wouldn't take too much time to decorate them.

Enter PTI's January release and my idea........I loved the little Lunchbox Note die, but wasn't sure how I could justify getting it when I don't have kids to put little notes in lunch boxes.  And then I remembered Stephanie's post.........Would this work for the same thing???

You decide!!!

I used 5 different stamp sets that I had not inked!  I know.....sinful!   BUT ..... even better than that.....I used only scraps to make these little cards!!!

Here is the inside (click to enlarge to full size).  I did stamp the TY and my Etsy store & blog information, but then I used my Copic Multiliner 0.5 to write the rest of the note.

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
2009 Holiday Tag Collection stamp set
Butterfly Kisses stamp set
Round & Round stamp set
Signature Series: Butterfly stamp set
Signature Series Flower stamp set
Inside & Out: Thank You stamp set
Limitless Layers: 1 3/4" Circles dies
Signature Series Butterfly & Flower dies
VersaFine - Onyx Black
Copic Multiliner 0.5

Off to your next one!!!
 Happy Stamping!!!

SFC #82 - Living on the Edge!!!

It's another Squigglefly Monday Challenge!!!!

Welcome back!  We've got a real treat in store for you today!  All of the DT creations are focusing on "EDGES!"  How do you decorate yours up???  Punches?....Bling?...Templates?....etc.???

Here is my card with only a sentiment today!

When I saw this lovely sentiment which was included in the first release of the year, I knew I would buy it.  The reason???  I just received the Background Basics: Sheet Music from PaperTrey Ink and I couldn't wait to pair the two of them together!

I just love the pearls on the edge of this card!!!

Today, I used several different ways to decorate edges.  The first thing I did was to use a template by Dawn McVey and her Color Couture collection.  I just love when PaperTrey Ink releases these.  Basically, they are a template in a variety of sizes.  Once you print them out on card stock and cut them, you can use them over and over again because you just trace the one you just made.  This one is from the December download, which you can find HERE.

After cutting the template out, I had to use my MFT Decorative Doily die.  Those edges are just to "die" for (pun totally intended...lol).   I think this is my most used die in my entire collection!  In order to center my sentiment, I cut a doily out and placed that aside.  Next I used the square piece that had the doily cut out of it and I placed it over top my sentiment.  This allowed the sentiment to peek through and I could position it however I wanted.  Then I taped that square right where I wanted and nestled the die right on top.  Ran it through my Big Shot and Ta-Da!!!  Sentiment centered!!!

Finally, I stamped my music background and then used foam dimensionals to adhere the doily to the card.  I added in some bling and pearls for those edges and it is all set and ready to go!

Materials Used:
Squigglefly - Love is friendship set to laughter
MFT - Decorative Doily die
PTI - Color Couture Mirror Image Card Templates
PTI - Background Basics: Sheet Music
Gina K. Pure Luxury card stock - Lipstick Red
PTI - Fresh Snow ink & Stamper's Select White card stock
VersaMagic ink - Red Magic (sponged on edges of doily)
Prima e. - Pearls & Red Rhinestones

Thanks for visiting today!!!
Take a look at the other DT creations to get some inspiration and then take the challenge this week with YOUR edges!

Wishing You Comfort for Gina K.'s Sketch #9 Challenge

I have all day today to be creative and I'm loving every minute of it.  I've finished a few cards and have them ready for this week.  I love fun, productive weekends!

I got a new printer for Christmas (a Canon MG5120) and before I could take it out of the box, I had to deplete the old Dell printer of the ink that it had left.  So, I started printing some of the Color Couture  patterned paper.  I had just gotten more ink before Christmas so I put in the new color cartridge and went to work.  I only got 13 papers printed before it was done.  Isn't that amazing???  I'm really hoping that this new printer does NOT go through the ink as quickly.  Time will tell.  Okay, so on with the details of the card....lol

I really liked Gina K.'s sketch this week.  Another very simple one, that you can really dress up as much as you want.  Then I picked one of her stamp sets to use.  I received her Many Wishes set as a freebie for ordering over $35 in December.  I hadn't tried it out yet and thought this would be perfect timing.  WOW is this set just beautiful.  The details in the dandelions are just amazing.  I'm definitely going to have to use this set more often.

Here's my card!

Don't you just love those little parachuting seeds?  I love that this stamp was made for the set.  It's just perfect.

The inside (click to enlarge).  I stamped off the Dark Chocolate ink on scrap paper before stamping again on the inside of this card.  I just wanted to dress up the inside a little bit.

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Gina K. - Many Wishes stamp set
Color Couture - March download
Dark Chocolate, Fine Linen and Kraft card stock
Woodgrain impression plate
Dark Chocolate ink
Tim Holtz distress ink - Fine Linen

First Time Grandma card for Squigglefly's Saturday releases!

Every Saturday is release day for Squigglefly.  So, you know what that means, right?
New images for you to download today!  And they are C-U-T-E!!!

I'm using the new Whimsy Rocker by Revi Devi Paat paired with a sentiment from First Timers by Chesney Young.  If you have some friends that are going to be first time mommies, daddies, grandparents, aunts, or uncles.....you have to check out this set.  You'll be getting 14 images for just $1.50!  That's just amazing!  And remember, with your digital images, you can mix and match the sentiments with your other Squigglefly images like I did.

A dear, dear friend of mine is going to be a new grandma very, very soon!  So, when I saw this image I knew I wanted to make her a card using it.  I then went hunting for a sentiment to go with it and wow, did I hit the jackpot with the First Timers set!

Don't you just love all the pretty colors for a new Grandma?  This grandma lovessssssss purple!

Lots going on with my Copics in this image.
If you really want to see all of the detail, click the image to enlarge it.

I wanted to add some texture to the little horsey, so I colored him with E57 and E59.......then I tore off a piece of an old towel and put some colorless blender solution on the tip of it and blotted over top of the horse.......Suddenly, he came to life and looks like he's a stuffed animal!

I also used the Colorless Blender pen to make the plaid in his blanket to match my plaid pattern in the green patterned paper.  Finally, I used my Copic Multiliner 0.3 pen to add in the wood pattern on the rocker.  I love how all of these things pulled together for this image.

I got to use my new PTI Simple Sentiments as the sentiment on the inside!

Materials Used:
Squigglefly - Whimsy Rocker & First Timers
PTI - Plum Pudding card stock & Swiss Dot Satin ribbon
PTI - Simple Sentiments stamp set
Heidi Grace patterned paper- Sweet Whimsy
Copics - Colorless Blender; V15, R81, E57, E59, E47, E49, E99
Copic Multiliner .03 (woodgrain on rocker)

Happy Birthday SIL!!!

Today I'm showcasing a CASEd card for my SIL, Sue.  When I saw this card done by Debbie Olson, I knew I had to make one similar for Sue.

What's weird is this:  I bookmark cards that I like when the releases come out for the month to give me ideas to look back on.......When I went back to take a closer look at this one in early January (had this scheduled for Blogger just in case Sue is reading my blog and I wouldn't ruin her surprise), I realized that I even had the same paper.  I didn't have it at the time of the release, but got it through my Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients kit for November.

I did change the stitch used on the card and instead of using ribbon, I used the Double Ended Banner die. Other than that, this truly is a CASEd card........but, I love it anyway.  Let's just hope that she does!

Materials Used (All PTI, unless otherwise noted):
Make a Wish, Make a Wish Additions and dies
Penny Black - Betsy Bluebell (balloons inside)
