Silhouette Cameo Monday!

Good morning to you!
I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday celebrating Christmas with your families!

We have a traditional Christmas Eve dinner with my family at my brother's house and then on Christmas my husband and I visit my mom.  After that we come home and I make Mike's favorite dinner...........Filet Mignon in a Red Wine & Mushroom Sauce!  It turned out delicious!

BUT......after that dinner..............

I got to break out my new Silhouette Cameo!

I have never owned a cutting machine, so this is totally new to me.  I will admit that once I found out that Mike was getting this for me for Christmas, I downloaded the software and began playing with the program to get myself familiar with it.  I've been reading a ton of Silhouette blogs and forums, too, just so I could learn what this machine could do.  I was quite surprised that the learning curve wasn't that bad!

So, first project???

Yep!  I dove right in!
Not with a card...............
Not with a box............
Not with something simple........

Instead, I fell in love with Kerri Bradford's This and That Tray Kits!  Basically, you buy the files and then put it together in a 7Gypsies Tray.  I ordered the tray ahead of time from Amazon so that I would have it to make as soon as I got my

Ready to see my very first project????
I printed out the backgrounds for each slot and then cut them to fit each spot.  Last night I cut all of the little words and images on the Cameo using different colored cardstock and adhering it into each part.  Please click to enlarge so you can see all the detail!

The images stay in place with magnets so I can switch them out for different seasons and holidays.  I can't wait to make one for a wedding gift.  When I ordered the tray, I also bought a plate stand and have it displayed in my dining room, already!

I did add lots of glitter and embellishments to each little window.  I'm just disappointed that you can't see that in my photo.  For example, the snowman in the bottom right corner is just so "blingy" since I used French Lace Stickles all over him.

Well, off to get things in order for today because we have company visiting later on this evening.

Enjoy your day and thanks for visiting!

Wonderful project. I love the colors. I don't even know what this machine is that everyone is raving about, but it sure makes beautiful things.
