Skipping Stones Design's #103 Sketch Challenge!!!

Good Morning, everyone!!!

Welcome to SSD's Sketch Challenge 103!

Wait until you see the awesome sketch Chan Vuong has for us this week.  It's so versatile that you will be able to many of the SSD stamp sets that you already have on hand.  It also works absolutely perfectly with our featured stamp set for this month......Rustic Tiles (which is on sale until the end of the month for $12.49).

Once again, the SSD DT has teamed up with Creative Impressions who has so graciously donated many of the items you will see on all of the DT cards this month.  You would not believe all of the beautiful ribbon, cute brads and unique brackets that were given to us.  You'll have to go check out their site to see what other cute items they have to offer.

Here's my card using Chan's awesome sketch and some of the fun brads from Creative Impressions!
In order to have the snowman's scarf and mittens match the snowflakes, I used my water brush and the same Tim Holtz inks.  You have to heat emboss the image first and then you simply stamp a bit of the distress ink on a craft sheet and then dip the water brush in the ink to paint with.  The embossed image prevents the ink/water mixture from bleeding into different areas of the image.  You still have to be careful to to have too much water on the brush, but it's a super fun technique.

Are you ready to play along?
Here's this week's Skipping Stones #103 Sketch:

Joining us again this week are Jimmi Mayo, Betsy Veldman and our honorary DT is Jessica Griffin.  These wonderful ladies created some show-stoppers, so be sure to give them some love.  After you check out their blogs, you'll want to take a peek at the other Skipping Stones DT blogs to see what they have created!
