Squigglefly Floral Fantasy Challenge!!!

Good morning!!!

Are you ready for a fantastic Squigglefly challenge for this week?
Heather has us thinking summer and beauty for this week's challenge!

Floral Fantasy!
We use flowers to celebrate births, weddings, proms, anniversaries and just to say, "I love you."  This week we want you to show us how you can use a flower on your project (image or embellishment) so that we can have a floral fantasy!!!

I decided to use flowers on my patterned paper, flower themed sentiments and to make a rolled fabric flower to use with my digital image.

The first image (outside) is from Nina Brackett.  She creates a cute little scene in this digital sentiment stamp called Friends are flowers in the garden of life. The inside of my card uses another digital sentiment stamp called, Weeds and Wildflowers.  This sentiment was created by Chesney Young and works perfectly with the outside of my card.  It's pretty cool to find several digital stamps that work together!

I just love, love, love making fabric rolled roses......This image was just perfect for me to make the rolled rose and glue it over top the flower image in the digi!
I learned a new technique to make rolled fabric flowers in the Inspiration Showcase online class that just ended.  Basically, you tear a strip of sticky backed canvas off the sheet and use any Tim Holtz distress ink (if you click the picture above to enlarge it, you'll see the fibers of the canvas).  You just take the ink pad and keep running it over the canvas until you get the color you want.  Be sure to thoroughly dry it, so it sticks to itself once rolled.  It worked beautifully.  Then you punch a circle, cover it with sticky dots and start rolling your flower onto the circle, twisting as you go.  I really, really like the look of the canvas rather than material.

See??? Doesn't this sentiment work wonderfully with the outside?

So??? Are you ready to go into a Floral Frenzy for the Floral Fantasy Challenge????  Be sure to enter your creations in the challenge thread over on the Squigglefly Blog.  You don't need a Squigglefly image to enter the challenge...........but, you are only entered into the drawing for a prize, if you use one.

Gorgeous flower! Thanks for sharing the how-to! I've made those flowers before with strips of fabric, but using sticky back canvas (love that stuff, don't you?) & TH distress inks is very fun!
